Telnet has many uses. A common use of Telnet is Email Spoofing (sending an email from somebody elses address). Heres how you do it:1. Open up the command prompt2. Type in "Telnet" without quotes.3. Find the mail server of whoever your going to be sending your email to. Use this DNS Lookup to look up the mail server you need. For example:If I was sending an email from "bob@aol.com to "bob@hotmail.com" I would need the hotmail mail server not the AOL one.Two well known mail servers are:Hotmail = mx1.hotmail.com AOL = mailin-01.mx.aol.comOk so at this stage you have "Telnet" open, and you know the mail server which you are going to use to send your email. So we type into the command prompt:"o 25". The "O" is an abbreviation for "Open" which is the command you use to connect to a mail server. The 25 represents the port of the mail server your connecting to. So if I type in:o mx2.hotmail.com 25 I would be connecting to a hotmail mail server at port 25.Now I will show you the list of commands used to send the email:CODEHELOMAIL FROM: RCPT TO: DATASUBJECT: .You must complete the commands shortly after you have connected to the mail server so that you are not timed out before your mail is sent. Sometimes the email you send will be blocked by your own computer and sometimes it may be blocked by a spam filter at the other end. Do not, however, think this is not traceable as it is easy for companys like hotmail to get the IP address and more information on you if you send a spoofed email.
